Spring in Step and Blossoms in the Home

Hello and happy first day of spring! Last week while up in DC I took some time off to bike around the National Mall. This confirmed two things for me: I really love Cherry Blossoms and biking (at least on the bottom pinching death trap I unearthed from my parent's garage) rates rather lower among the wines and spirits.
But to return to the C. Blossoms - I think they are perfect! Such a soft, delicate flower attached to a sturdy, rough branch - it is perfectly feminine and delicate without being overwhelmingly 'precious'. It can bring 'that touch of pink' into a room without evoking victorian chintzes and prints of gambolling kittens.
So, in honor of the first day of Spring 2012, I give you a few ideas and pictures I've picked up from my internet strolls!

Also loving the copper tub!

There are several vendors on Etsy (this one by Cuma) with cherry blossom decals for walls - an inexpensive and temporary way to add interest to a room. What I love about this decal is the movement evoked.

Love the airiness of pink blossoms and blue glass. These images are from Dreamy White:

Enjoy the spring!
